Biography
Peg Herring is a writer who once taught high school English.
After graduating from
the University of Michigan, she worked in education, teaching English,
history, and communications. Peg was active in the school, serving at different times
as yearbook advisor, union president, drama coach, chorus leader, and class adviser. In
2002 she retired from teaching to pursue full-time writing.
As an educator, Ms. Herring was chosen Teacher of the year
by a regional newspaper and
was twice awarded the National Endowment for the Humanities scholarship. In 2002 her
lesson plans combining history and language instruction were chosen by a consortium of
Educational Service Districts as exemplary and offered as examples for teacher training.
Ms. Herring is still active in drama, music, and community
events. When not involved in these areas, she and her husband enjoy travel, both abroad
and in the Unites States.
