H ansel &
G retel
W ho could resist a house made of candy? Reliable Hansel and spoiled Gretel take
a bite (or two) in this reworked fairy tale, but a few fresh surprises are in store
for the siblings.
C aptured by an evil witch until their debts are paid off, the two soon discover that the
cottage's enchanted furniture were once children and vow to free them all. . . somehow.
I n a play about magical transformations of many kinds, can Gretel focus on saving
the lives of others or is she doomed to become a bed stand forever?
Fourth Grade Students comment on Hansel & Gretel:
"I liked being the chair because he complained all the time and it was funny."
"Gretel turned into a good girl and helped all the others so she was nice."
"The witch is funny and she gets sent away at the end and not burned up so that is better."
"Portalon was a magic door that turned into a man at the end and I liked being magic."
